Another good find thanks to Yelpers. We were looking for vegetarian options leaving Sanibel. Classic Italian New York decor, pics of skyscraper iron workers and the Rat Pack. The bruscetta was delicious. Flavorful tomatoes and basil served on garlic bread with a side of balsamic vinaigrette. The 16" pizza was on special for $9.99, plus toppings. We ordered mushrooms, broccoli and onions. All were fresh. The pizza wasn't greasy at all just the right amount of sauce and cheese. The crust was crispy and thin, but not as thin as some NY style pies. Definitely a good choice.

I say eat here Fold the pizza east coast style Two thumbs up and seventy two snaps. Wishing I would have eaten here the first day of my vacation. Would have made my lunch choice so easy as I would have been here everyday. Better as I didn't as wife would have been made.

Had a veggie pizza and some garlic knots. The knots came out very hot and delicious. Pizza was really good. The cheese tasted very fresh. Overall good NY style pizza!

Perfect spot for NY style pizza! Ordered the 30 inch, it was perfectly even and crispy all round. The wings were amazing, medium sauce was good and they were cooked to perfection.

Had Pizza and Waangs! Banging pizza and honestly good down pizza worth twerkin for! Server was kinda lost-ish but the pitchers of beers were awesome. If I lived permanently down here this would be my pizza place of choice, if any one disagrees LET ME KNOW. YES I HAD A FEW DRINKS, LEE ME ALONE. Also they had a few video games in there which is nice to have to spice up the place. I like chill bars but also like having the option of doing something while I drink. Like playing darts or writing Yelp reviews. It gets the honesty outta me. GLUTEN FREE PIZZA? Great pizza! Great service! Super clean. We were visiting from Wisconsin and randomly chose this place. Loved it! Prices were extremely reasonable too.

Finally, a place with a real deal NY style pizza. Forget Grimaldi's this place has a better crust with fresh ingredients. Had a pepperoni with mushrooms and it was really good. The crust is light and crispy, but not a cracker crust. Try this place. Very friendly service too. Great find.

Great place! Beer on tap, video games for the kids, good size bar with a couple of flat screens and great service. Ordered the 16" pizza and caesar salad. I will be back!

Awesome place! I found this place in yelp during a short weekend trip to the area this weekend. We have 4 kiddos with us ( ages 5, 7, 7, and 11, and we were looking for a family friendly pizza place. In summary, we got lucky when we found this one. The moment we walked in we felt taken care of. They recommended their 30" pie and for our party it sounded like a great idea. While we waited, the kids played with some games they had around the dining area, and at one point I see through the window of the door to the kitchen that the chef was making the pizza and throwing the dough up in the air. I tell the kids and they got lucky that the waitress that was coming out opened the door so they could see better. Their eyes lit up! They even got dough balls so they knew how the dough felt, smelled, etc. it was the highlight of the night! They guy himself brought out the gigantic pie and cut it for us at the table. Wow! Best pizza ever! At least in FL. Not too thick, not thin. Sauce was light and it was just tasty. Pizza and the garlic rolls we ordered were out of this world. Hostess and waitress were very kind to us. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend for families and for NY style pizza lovers.

Delicious pizza!! Charming inside and love the Sinatra playing in the background. Great for dinner or a nice afternoon lunch heading home from the beach. Take out too!

Overall a nice local place to have some pizza. They had some nice appetizer selections and unique pizza recipes which was a nice surprise. Service was great but my main complaint was the limited beer selection.

Best pizza and staff in fort myers!! We have never had a bad experience or a bad meal at poppys!! I highly recommend this restaurant! We took our family in to try the 30 inch pie and it was as delicious as the two slice special!! Always impressed with the food and service! We love poppys!!!

Cute decor for this highway strip mall holdover, and Poppy seemed like quite a likable character from upstate NY/Ithaca area, but sentimentality aside, this was not good pizza. Plates were dirty and dulled by some kind of soap film residue, the pizza took quite too long to make (brick oven pizza takes 2-3minutes, this took 10-15) and the dough had a consistency of over-chewed bubble gum. Cheese was too oily, sauce too watery. The place and the staff are charming, the prices are very reasonable, but I am from NYC, home of the best pizza in the universe, and this was some of the worst...though of course Florida's infamous soft water may make decent pizza an impossibility. The prior five star rating must be an owner entry.

While in the area on vacation we tried this place due to 1 recommendation from a fellow yelper and also a local we met. When we entered my wife and myself were the only customers there. We sat at the beer and wine only bar and was greeted by a very friendly and cordial bartender. We explained we were visiting the area from N.Y. And we're told Poppies was recommended as the best pizza in the area so we would give it a try. She stated that we will not be disappointed. The owners were present and introduced themselves. Rare in today's world. We ordered 2 pies to go while having a beer. 1 large pie with pepperoni and another large all white pizza with just cheese and no sauce. After 10 minutes one of the owners came out with the pies and stated that the pies were for free due to the fact they were starting to have issues with the refrigeration and that the pies would not be up to their standard. They also were closing down for the evening until the problem was remedied. He explained that the pies were fine to eat but please do not rate his pizza on those 2 pies. We thanked him and told him it was not necessary but he insisted. We brought the pizza home to our family and enjoyed the BEST PIZZA we have ever had outside of New York. The sauce was homemade and the crust was well done and crunchy. What a pleasant surprise. As stated earlier, it's hard to find any restaurant that has the pride that these owners have and are willing to do whatever it takes to deliver an exceptional product, in this case, pizza. We highly recommend this pizza joint when your in the area and we will definitely be back the next time we are in the area. A must try!

We asked a local for a recommendation for good NY style pizza and he suggested Poppy's. We loved the pizza! The crust was thin, chewy & delicious. My husband and I had a loaded special that was generously topped with cheese, veggies, and meat. Our kids had a plain cheese pie that was perfect- the cheese was golden and yummy. Fritz, our server, was very friendly and took good care of us. We left with happy smiles, full bellies, two slices of ny cheesecake and leftover pizza. We will definitely come back to Poppy's when we return to Ft Myers for Sprong break next year!
